Huskers Get Break With News Of Opening
Game Suspension Of BYU Players

That’s a challenging prospect facing Nebraska’s new head coach, Mike Riley.

Riley received an unprecedented volume of welcome endorsements from the press on the annual media day.

For a time it appeared Nebraska would face a tough opening game opponent in BYU on September 5.  But it turns out that a good number of BYU players—including their best running back—won’t make the Lincoln game because of an opening game suspension involving a brawl that followed the end of their loss against Memphis in the Miami Beach Bowl last year.

The Huskers also have players suspended for the season opener.  What they are guilty of has not been disclosed.  However, it is reported that only one of the five is a starter.

But very bad news for the Cornhuskers is the loss of sensational kick returner De’Mornay Pierson-El because of a practice session foot injury that will keep him out six to eight weeks.

But Coach Riley and his 2015 Huskers appear to have the potential for a good season.

Certainly Husker fans wish them well.
